Hold tight

Telling the story of the beautiful and the strong, the wise and the naïve, the hesitant and the brave, and the loved.

Echoes of the fables, folk and fairytales we read and hear as a child, that can take root like seeds, to grow and flourish, deep within our minds and hearts. Sometimes these stories have a secret subtle power in shaping destinies.

Inspired by the Grimm's brothers fairy tale of 'little red riding hood'. Yes, there is magic, and there is a sense that this fairy tale of a young girl in a red cape.  Although, it has been told before; this is about a girl, growing up, knowing she can be anything she wanted be, who takes her Grandfather and dog on an adventure.  Sharing the greatest gift you can give someone ~ your time...

Reflecting on my Mum's decline with Alzheimer's and recent death,  I wanted to explore when the cared becomes the carer and the child who once had her hand held becomes the hand holder.

Looking forward to the time when we can hold hands and hug again...

Bearing the traces of life’s journey.  My reflection on the idea of life’s journey as a complex layer of comfort and chaos, strength and fragility, authenticity and vulnerability.

Creating characters and stories that embody life and love.  It sings stories of a forgotten wilderness, once forged as a child.  Looking out to the vast beauty of nature, paints a happy face on our heart.
